Apart from providing access to its collections, the library also takes part in educational, bibliographic, publishing, and cultural activities.

Every person has a right to use the Library.

Before using the library resources, you are required to sign up in person at the Circulation Desk (New Wing, main hall).

Not every item from the Library collections can be checked out, some materials are available only for reading room use.

The patrons can use all the reading rooms within the Jagiellonian Library. For special collections, you are required to contact first the relevant section (Special Collections Department).

The Jagiellonian Library collections are included in the Online Catalogue of the Jagiellonian University Libraries Collections.

Apart from items from the Stock Rooms, the JL also offers digital resources:

  • The Jagiellonian Digital Library – a project co financed by the European Union. Its main objective has been to digitize endangered collections in order to protect them from further degradation. The JDL includes items in the public domain as well as copyrighted material – available exclusively from the computers within the Library.
  • The Jagiellonian University Repository (RUJ) is an online aggregator of scholarly works and publications of scholars and researchers from the Jagiellonian University for the purpose to share their achievements and exchange knowledge.

Jagiellonian Library Terms of Use are currently available in Polish only. Relevant information can be provided by the librarians on duty in the reading rooms.
