45 Years of Restoration of Krakow – a UNESCO World Heritage City

It has been 45 years since the historic centre of Krakow, the former capital of Poland, was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. To mark the occasion, a panel exhibition entitled “45 Years of Restoration of Krakow – a UNESCO World Heritage City”, prepared by the Museum of Krakow together with the Social Committee for the Restoration of Krakow’s Monuments, was opened in the lobby of the Jagiellonian Library.

550 Years of Printing in Poland

The Jagiellonian Library houses many unique artefacts from the history of Polish literature, culture, writing, and printing. In the storerooms of the oldest university library in Poland, one can find the oldest Christmas carol written in Polish (before 1400), the oldest known version of "Bogurodzica" (1408) as well as the oldest Polish print (1473).

International Forum "Safe collections, safe heritage"

The Jagiellonian Library is a co-organizer of the International Forum “Safe collections, safe heritage. Museums, libraries and archives under threat” which will be held on September 26th-28th in Krakow. On September 27th, from 9.30 a.m. to 1.15 p.m., there will be workshops on the security of library collections at the Library.
