Open lecture by Dr. Paweł Rogaliński on his book “Model polityka popularnego w państwach anglosaskich”

The Jagiellonian University Press and The Jagiellonian Library are organising an open lecture by Dr. Paweł Rogaliński on his book “Model polityka popularnego w państwach anglosaskich” (The model of a popular politician in core Anglosphere countries).

What makes some politicians maintain their popularity even after several years of ruling or holding office? Is it the result of their hard work or innate qualities? What influence does the candidate's image created by their campaign teams have on electoral success? Together with Dr. Paweł Rogaliński, author of the book "The Model of a Popular Politician in core Anglosphere countries," we will explore whether there is a list of characteristics that a politician effectively managing their image and maintaining high popularity should possess.

The open lecture will take place on June 7, 2023, at 5:00 PM in the Conference Room of the Jagiellonian Library. It will also be transmitted on the Jagiellonian University Press Facebook page and YouTube Channel:

About the book:

The author of the book analyses individual elements of image and political communication, and through in-depth descriptions and numerous visualizations, constructs a model of a popular politician. It is a valuable resource for both participants of the political scene and for those who want to critically observe it and make informed choices.
I highly appreciate the originality of this monograph and its contribution to the field of research. The conducted studies excellently fill a gap in the subject literature, and furthermore, they serve as a compendium of knowledge that can be practically utilized by political actors, advisors, and spin doctors.
From the review by Prof. Agnieszka Kasińska-Metryka, PhD

The ingenious nature of the chosen research topic, the innovative approach to the discussed subject, the impressive source material serving as its theoretical and factual basis, as well as the correctness of the entire argumentation and accessible narrative style, deserve special attention.
