The Jagiellonian Library offers test access to selected Oxford University Press databases. The trial will run until March 31st, 2024.

Max Planck Encyclopedias of International Law

This database comprises two modules: the Max Planck Encyclopedia of Public International Law and the Max Planck Encyclopedia of International Procedural Law. They contain peer reviewed articles and bibliographies covering all aspects of international law, constituting a valuable source of knowledge for lecturers, researchers, and law students.
The database can be searched in a basic mode by author and subject. Advanced search options include criteria such as author/editor, title, full-text search, publication date, subject area and type of content, as well as logical operators (AND, OR, NOT). Both encyclopedias can be searched and browsed together or separately, using appropriate filters.

Max Planck Encyclopedia of Comparative Constitutional Law

MPECCoL is a database of analytical articles providing a comparative overview of constitutional law. Its specialized thematic profile ensures an in-depth discussion of the nature, structure, and historical development of constitutional law from a global perspective.
The database can be searched by subject, author/editor, word, or phrase. Advanced search options include fields such as author/co-author, date, title, full-text search, subject, and jurisdiction. You can also choose the type of texts you are looking for - commentaries and analyses or encyclopedic entries.
The MPECCoL database is linked to the Oxford Law Citator—an advanced support tool that provides direct links to related content within Oxford University Press online legal resources and other valuable sources.

Oxford Encyclopedia of EU Law

The Oxford Encyclopedia of EU Law, a continually updated encyclopedia of EU law, consists of 131 articles that define, explain, and analyze key legal concepts of EU law in an accessible yet comprehensive manner. This high-quality online resource is aimed at students, lecturers, and researchers of European Union law. The authors cover topics such as case law, common commercial policy, consumer protection, data protection, energy, environment, European integration, health, institutions, labour law, and more.
The database allows simple searches by author and topic. It also offers advanced search options, including full-text search, publication date, author, title, bibliography, subject, and jurisdiction. Advanced search options include the use of logical operators (AND, OR, NOT).

Oxford Scholarly Authorities in International Law

Oxford Scholarly Authorities on International Law is a database aimed at scholars and practitioners in the domain of public international law. It contains full-text online editions of leading reference works and treatises published by Oxford University Press, such as Oppenheim and Oxford Commentaries on International Law.
All titles are fully searchable by subject, title, and author, and they are also linked through Oxford Law Citator to relevant case reports and articles across all Oxford University Press online legal resources. Users can browse titles by author and contributor, title and subject, search the full text of any title, and navigate between references and case descriptions, as well as commentaries and analyses.

Oxford Reference Online (ORO)

Oxford Reference is an online database covering 25 different subject areas and containing 2 million digitized entries from dictionaries, companions, and encyclopedias published by Oxford University Press. Users can search for both short, general texts as well as more detailed articles on specialized topics.

The Oxford English Dictionary (OED)

The Oxford English Dictionary, published by Oxford University Press, is recognized as the most comprehensive and systematic historical dictionary of the English language. It contains definitions, etymology, history, phonetics, and usage of over 500,000 words and phrases from all geographical varieties of the English language, as well as 3.5 million quotations ranging from classic literature and specialist journals to film scripts, song lyrics, and social media posts.
