Mexican treasures of the Jagiellonian Library

In order to commemorate the 95th anniversary of the establishment of Polish-Mexican diplomatic relations, many cultural institutions in Poland ― in cooperation with the Embassy of Mexico in Poland ― have prepared various events whose purpose is to celebrate the long-lasting friendship that exists between our two countries, as well as introducing Poles to Mexican history, art and culture.

On this occasion, a number of exhibitions have been organized in Cracow, including those at the Nowa Huta Cultural Centre, at the Cervantes Institute and in the Jordan Park. The history of this friendship is extremely interesting, as are the warm diplomatic and intercultural relations which have been its consequence.

The present exhibition ― organized by the Jagiellonian Library in cooperation with the Embassy of Mexico ― forms part of this initiative, albeit in a slightly different way, as it lets history speak for itself in the voices of some priceless and often unique items in our collection, thus inviting visitors to go on a fascinating journey in time.

We cordially invite all visitors to the Jagiellonian Library to make the most of this rare opportunity to acquaint themselves with the Mexican treasures which are now on display.

Admission is free.
