The exhibition "Beethoven and Penderecki. The Sphere of Sacrum"- CLOSED from Saturday, March 20, due to the Regulation of the Council of Ministers of March 19, 2021 on restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

We cordially invite you to the exhibition "Beethoven and Penderecki. The Sphere of Sacrum”organized as part of the 25th Ludwig van Beethoven Easter Festival.

The jubilee exhibition was devoted to the works of two famous composers: Ludwig van Beethoven, the patron of the Festival, an artist who set new directions for the development of musical art at the beginning of the 19th century, and Krzysztof Penderecki, who died almost a year ago, the most outstanding Polish composer of our times.

As part of the exhibition, there are presented the autographs of Ludwig van Beethoven's works from the collection of the former Prussian State Library in Berlin. You can see the composer's sketchbooks and the manuscripts of Symphonies No. 7 and No. 8, as well as late string quartets. This is also a great oportunity to see the autograph of the sketches of Krzysztof Penderecki's Concerto No. 2 for violin and orchestra, which belongs to the collection of the Jagiellonian Library.

The exhibition is complemented by reproductions of works by Krzysztof Penderecki, the originals of which are in the possession of Mrs. Elżbieta Penderecka.
