
During the Library Week 8-15 May 2014 Jagiellonian Library invites all interested parties on a number of events related to its collections, history, and operation. This is a rare opportunity to look at the place every day inaccessible to readers.
Below is a detailed program of events:
May 7
- 12 p.m. - Jagiellonian Digital Library - from a shelf to a computer screen. Know the digitization process in the Jagiellonian Digital Library - the one of largest digital library in Poland. Guided tour, signing up: projekty.bj @ uj.edu.pl
- 4 p.m. - "Nooks and crannies of the Jagiellonka - journey through the centuries" - a story about the history of the Jagiellonian Library. Lecturer: Żaneta Kubic, head of the Department of Studies Collections BJ , Conference Room New Building BJ , admission free

- 12 p.m. - 4 p.m. Occupation: cataloger. Discover the world behind the glass doors - presentation of work in the Collection Processing Department show workshop of librarian-cataloger in the era of pre- computed and nowadays. Signing up: projekty.bj @ uj.edu.pl
- 4 p.m. - Not only Gutenberg - the presentation of the old prints from Jagiellonian Library collections. In the program: revolutionary invention of printing and its impact on the production, distribution and availability of books; chronological overview of the forms of the printed book - from incunabula to the end of XVIII century; life of book: the owners, the readers, luxurious fixtures.
