Jagiellonian Library, I.J. Paderewski Music Society in Bydgoszcz and Centre for the Documentation of 19th- and 20th-Century Polish Music, named after I.J. Paderewski – Institute of Musicology, JU have the pleasure to invite to opening of the exhibition "Ignacy Jan Paderewski (1860-1941) for art and country..." , which will be held on the 3rd of November at 5.00 p.m. in the exhibition room of the Jagiellonian Library (entrance from the Oleandry street 3).

The importance of Ignacy Jan Paderewski in the history of our Motherland and spiritual culture of Poles seems not to be underestimated. This great artist and world-famous virtuoso large part of his life devoted to the service of the Homeland. He emphasized: "I hoped that I would become someone prominent, in order to help Poland and it was over my artistic aspirations." This dream has come true - Paderewski gained respect around the world as an artist, and with time also as one of the builders of Independent Poland.

At the exhibition Ignacy Jan Paderewski (1860-1941): for art and country...  is presented multilateral activity of Paderewski: his achievements in the field of composition, appreciation for him as a virtuoso as well as tribute to his political activity.

The exhibition is open: 4th-25th of  November 2016,  Mon. 10.00 a.m. - 5.00 p.m., Thu - Fri. 10.00 a.m. - 15.00 p.m.  Free entrance.
