Exhihbition: “Beautiful books, beautiful stories. The book for children”

Lasting from 6th to 28th of October 2016 the exhibition entitled "Beautiful books, beautiful stories. The book for children" presents beautiful literary and editorial positions of children's literature

 

 

 

In the showcases among selected titles, you can see the books published in the nineteenth, twentieth and twenty-first century, well known, popular classics and less-known or forgotten items. There are, among others, several editions of fairy tales from around the world, an overview of editing, translations and illustrations for selected titles, books with common inspirations, showing the lands of imagination and creatures living in them, as well as items that present the dark realms and difficult topics in the life of the youngest.

 

The exhibition can be seen in the exhibition hall of the Jagiellonian Library. Its organizers are Jagiellonian Library and the Faculty of Polish Studies at the Jagiellonian University and the curator. Elizabeth Zarych, PhD from the Department of Editing and Auxiliary Sciences. The exhibition will be accompanied by events organized by the students of Editing at the Jagiellonian University. The opening ceremony will take place on 6th October at 4.00 p.m.

 

Presented books come from the resources of JL and the collection of the curator of the exhibition.
